Wismans family
About the family
The current owners of De Driehoek Dairy Farm are brother and sister, Bram and Anke Wismans. Despite their academic backgrounds (Anke, medical psychology, and Bram, commercial economics), they decided to continue the family tradition.
Dairy farm De Driehoek
The farm boasts a unique location, right near the center of Oosterhout, in the heart of the Holy Triangle. It's a remarkable spot where three monasteries are situated close together. The farm is situated on the grounds of St. Paul's Abbey. The Wismans family has leased the land surrounding the abbey for over 40 years, where cows graze freely within the monastery walls.
A unique red flora cheese; Benedictus
This is where Benedictus is made. It's a unique cheese that matures in the cellars of St. Paul's Abbey. The special climate in the cellar gives the rind a red bloom, resulting in a unique flavor, aroma, and red color. It's the only cheese in the Netherlands with an edible red bloom rind matured this way.
The Secret of the Abbey also originates from this cheese dairy. A traditional herb cheese made with a secret blend of herbs.
Our collaboration
"They found us through word of mouth," says Peter Verweij. "Anke Wismans now runs the company with her brother. We've only been buying cheese from these cheesemakers since 2024. Naturally, we hope this nascent collaboration will develop into a long-term relationship. We're happy to keep a cheese as unique as Benedictus in our range."
