Noordam family

hello
About the Noordam family

In the Gelderland village of Hellouw, you'll find the Noordam family's dairy farm and cheese factory. Brothers Johan and Peter work on the farm every day, along with their wives Ivonne and Ariët and their children. They make several types of cheese, including Vivaldi.

The cows and their milk

The Noordam family grows a large portion of their cow feed themselves. This allows them to know exactly what the cows are eating. You can taste this healthy nutrition in their milk. They process almost all of their milk into their own cheese and various other dairy products. In 2024, they even won the Cum Laude award!

Plucking up the courage…

Fifteen years ago, Ivonne Noordam (Johan's wife) contacted Kees Remijn. Her question: "Would you like to sell our cheese?" At that time, the supply of cheese exceeded demand. The answer was therefore no. With the growth of Kaashandel Remijn and the increasing demand for farmhouse cheeses, we started selling them some time later. After the Noordam family's cheese won the Cum Laude award, our sales only increased.

And son-in-law…

We don't just buy cheese from the Noordam family; our son, Thijmen, and son-in-law, Arnout, also work at Remijn Cheese Shop. They tell us the following:

Thymen

I ended up at Remijn Cheese Shop through my father. I had started studying commercial management (work/study), but I was still looking for a training company. Coming from a farm, the industry always appeals. That's why my father advised me to contact Peter Verweij (director). I'm now an active salesperson at Remijn Cheese Shop and regularly drive the Remijn en Route van.

Arnout

After working in the bakery industry for several years, I caught the cheese bug through my in-laws. When a position opened up at Remijn Cheese Shop, my father-in-law introduced me to Peter Verweij. After the first cup of coffee, I knew immediately: this is my new challenge. I now enjoy working as a Supply Chain Manager at Remijn Cheese Shop.
